Auto Drip Machines
There are more brands of auto drip coffee “pots” than you could imagine. They all function basically the same. You pur water into a resovoir, place ground coffee into a filter/screen basket, and turn it on. It does everything from heating the water to dripping it onto the coffee grounds. Once it has used all of the water, it turns off and if it has brewed into a glass carafe, a hot plate turns on to “keep it warm”
This is wrong on so many levels. You lose control over brewing coffee. You must trust the designer of the “coffee pot” to provide you with an automatic machine that can make coffee as well as you can do it yourself.
There are times when you may not have the time to brew coffee and an auto machine, loaded with coffee and water on a timer/clock to have a pot of coffee waiting when you get out of bed makes more free time.
Now with all that said, I have coffee made in an auto drip EVERY morning. The coffee is made by my wife. She has at her disposable; * Charcoal filtered city water. * A weight based grinder. * A Dutch, hand assembled, auto drip pot.
